Rappahannock Community College in Warsaw, Virginia, offers academic and professional degree programs for both the career and university-bound. Rappahannock also offers special programs of study for high school students who want to get a head start on college or a career.

Rappahannock awards associate’s degrees in the sciences, humanities and liberal arts. Students who pursue these degree programs get the academic foundation for transferring to a four-year school.

Those who want to use their degree to begin a career may pursue an associate’s in such areas as:

  • Administration of Justice
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Industrial Technology
  • Nursing

Professional certificates are also available in healthcare and other in-demand fields.

Rappahannock also has a dual degree program for high school students. This program allows those still in high school to earn both high school and college credit while working towards a career or academic goal.

To begin studying at Rappahannock, applicants need only fill out an online application and submit transcripts or a copy of their GED. Applicants must also take the Compass exam, which the school uses for class placement purposes only.

Rappahannock awards federal financial aid in the form of grants and loans. To qualify for federal aid, applicants must demonstrate their financial need through the FAFSA. Rappahannock also offers scholarships. Each scholarship has different criteria, which could include academic performance or intended major. Veteran’s benefits are also available.
