Description

Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, aims to prepare theologically educated men and women to evangelize and spread the scripture by providing holistic ministerial preparation in an interdenominational institution.

The seminary is rooted in evangelical Christian faith, specifically the Wesleyan-Arminian tradition, which emphasizes the grace of God in two unique ways: firstly, that it is available to all without dependence on merit or works; secondly, that all may be saved.

The seminary stresses the importance of a pure lifestyle as a covenantal community. Its ethos restricts alcohol, tobacco, and drug use; encourages regular exercising, healthy eating habits and a proper balancing of work, study, and leisure; commits to celibacy; and condemns any form of harassment or abuse.

As a reflection of this, the seminary has adopted using only inclusive, or non-sexist, language in all seminary publications, literature and communications to implement freedom and lift oppression and discrimination of any kind.

The seminary offers master’s degrees in Divinity and Arts and doctorates in Philosophy, Theology, and Ministry. It also offers advanced research programs in Biblical Studies, World Mission and Evangelism, and Intercultural Studies. You can also earn certificates in Christian Discipleship and Christian Studies.

Financial aid and scholarships are available to qualifying students. The seminary provides housing for over 30% of its full-time students, with priority given to international students.
