Description

A two-year institution and part of the University of Hawai’i system, Kaua’i Community College is mainly intended for students preparing to transfer. However, this isn’t to say that KCC is your average transfer school. This one-of-a-kind community college offers plenty of unique opportunities that you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.

In addition to common concentrations like Business, Health Service, and Trade Technology, the school is also home to number of unusual academic programs. Hawaiian Botany, Hawaiian Studies, and Polynesian Voyaging are among the interesting certificate programs available.

Student life at Kaua’i Community College is no less unique. KCC students can enjoy a variety of activities, such as horseback riding, windsurfing, and scuba diving, that wouldn’t be available at most schools. KCC also encourages its students to visit the many historic sites in the area. For example, the Polihale Heiahu, located north of Polihale State Park, is known to local lore as the departure point for dead souls to travel into the sun.

Whether you’re looking for a professional certificate to give your career a boost, or you want to get some general course requirements out of the way before transferring, Kaua’i Community College is a great alternative to the standard 2-year college experience.
