Description

George Washington University has long been an esteemed institution of higher learning. Extending its opportunities beyond its Washington DC campus, George Washington also offers undergraduate and graduate degrees through its off-campus program in Alexandria, Virginia.

Alexandria grants bachelor’s degrees in Police Science and a combined degree in Information, Science and Technology.

The majority of Alexandria’s programs are at the graduate level and include master’s degrees and graduate certificates.

One of Alexandria’s most noteworthy programs is its master’s in Education. Designed for working educators who wish to advance their studies and work in administrative and school-leadership capacities, classes for the graduate Education program take place in the evenings and on weekends.

Alexandria also grants master’s degrees in Art Therapy, Human Resource Development, Publishing, Public Relations and others. Since all of its master’s degrees are designed to accommodate working adults, flexible schedules are available in all departments.

Graduate student organizations, which help students to make contacts and refine their professional skills, include a Black Graduate Student Association, a Graduate Finance Society, a Toastmasters group and the Women in Business organization.

Academic support, career development services, personal counseling and support for disabled and multicultural students are some of the student services featured on the Alexandria campus.

Those in the Education program may be eligible for financial aid through Teach for America. All students may also apply for loans, grants and scholarships.

Transcripts and test scores, including the GRE for graduate applicants, are the primary materials used by admissions to evaluate prospective students.
