Description

With locations in Rapid City and Sioux Falls, Black Hills Beauty College makes a cosmetology education available to South Dakota’s two largest cities. The college bases its academics on the Pivot Point educational model, which is used by beauty schools throughout the country.

Black Hills Beauty College’s 2100-hour Cosmetology program fulfills all of South Dakota’s educational requirements for beauty professionals. However, it also includes several additional courses that will help you stand out from the crowd. These courses range from Business Management and Salesmanship to Paraffin Waxing and Aromatherapy.

BHBC’s financial aid opportunities include Pell grants, VA benefits and vocational rehabilitation. Scholarships are not currently available, but you may be able to find externally funded scholarships.

Classes at BHBC begin in February, June and September. Admissions requirements include a high school diploma and GED, as well as a satisfactory score on the school’s “cosmetology aptitude test.” You must be at least 17 years old to apply.
