No matter the location, the Tri State Semi Driver Training Inc. offers instruction and provides experience for students looking to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License.

The Class A program is designed to let you spend more time behind the wheel, as it consists of over 170 hours of instruction, but only five days in the classroom. The Class B program consists of 130 instruction hours and a five-day seminar before students can get behind the wheel.

Both programs are designed to provide students with theoretical skills required to safely operate commercial vehicles, plan trips using a Professional Driver’s Atlas, drive defensively, and maneuver and dock trucks. The goal is to demonstrate the safe operating competency required in the student’s state and grant the student the ability to apply these skills firsthand.

The institution realizes that most students looking for CDLs are working, so it has developed a weekend training program that allows students to attend training sessions on nine consecutive weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) if desired.

Admissions require students to be at least 21 years of age, have a current driver’s license, possess an acceptable driving record, pass DOT physical and drug screening, and meet federal motor carrier safety regulations.

Financial aid and a number of finance options are offered to eligible students on an individual basis. The institution also has carriers with available tuition reimbursement programs offered to graduates.
