Description

Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, Maryland is a two-year school that cares about and supports its students both professionally and personally.

For students who wish to transfer to a four-year university, Chesapeake offers academically oriented programs that encompass the liberal and fine arts and sciences.

Professional associate degrees, diplomas and certificates train students to work in such professions as accounting, hotel and restaurant management, practical nursing, surgical technology and welding.

Chesapeake provides academic advising, tutoring and career counseling and placement assistance. In addition, the school offers services to help the most challenged students to overcome circumstances and complete their education. Chesapeake’s “Corner of Care” is a place where students may go to get everything from food to winter clothing to baby supplies.

Community, continuing and youth education options also provide a supportive structure to a broad segment of the population. Professionals who wish to upgrade skills or adults seeking enrichment opportunities may take classes in everything from Veterinary Assistance to Aquatics to Writing to Arts and Crafts. High school students may benefit from the school-to-work programs, which prepare them early on for profitable careers.

Student life programming, which includes various student clubs, gives students the chance to expand, unwind and socialize outside of class.

Tuition is lower for in-state residents and financial assistance is available to qualifying students including Veterans and those who are eligible for loans, grants and other forms of aid.

Most programs have an open admissions policy, but some programs may have additional requirements.
