Description

Since it has an open-door admissions policy, just about anyone can attend Wilson Community College (WCC) and receive professional career training, particularly in the trade industries.

Located in Wilson, North Carolina, WCC does provide training for some in-demand health and public service careers including Cosmetology, Early Childhood Education, Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology. However, its trade programs are the most abundant of its offerings.

Electrical Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology and Welding are a few of the areas in which students interested in the trade fields may get an associate’s degree or certificate at Wilson.

For those who wish to transfer to a four-year school, Liberal Arts programs are available as well.

Student services are in place to help students in whichever area of study they choose. Tutoring, academic advising, career development and services for disabled students are all available.

In contrast to WCC’s highly practical educational programming are some of its student life offerings, such as a student literary journal that publishes everything from poetry to fiction to photography.

While tuition is lower for North Carolina residents, students may also apply for financial aid if necessary.
