Dordt College is a private, Christian, liberal arts college located in Sioux Center, Iowa, near the location where Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota meet. This community of about 6,300 is north of Sioux City, Iowa, and southeast of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The school was founded in 1955 and is affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRC). The name is a reference to the Synod of Dordt.

The college’s goal is to help students discover God's plan for their lives and equip them for their calling. Each subject area attempts to view the world through the eyes of God and challenges the student to respond accordingly.

Dordt College annually enrolls about 1,300 students from more than 30 states, 7 Canadian provinces, and 10 other countries, with a faculty-student ratio of 15:1. U.S. News & World Report has included Dordt in its “America’s Best Colleges” listing since 1993 and in 2007 it was tied for #3 among Midwest Baccalaureate colleges.

The College was founded in 1955 and is committed to a Reformed, Christian perspective that embraces the Bible as the word of God. Since its inception, the College has grown to twenty-five buildings located on a campus. In addition to its undergraduate degree programs, Dordt College also offers the Masters in Education (M.Ed.) degree.

Majors and degrees

Dordt College offers two-year Associate of Arts (A.A.) and four-year Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S. E.), Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.), and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degrees. In addition to its undergraduate degree programs, Dordt College also offers the Masters in Education (M.Ed.) degree.

Dordt offers 11 pre-professional programs in architecture, dentistry, law, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, seminary studies, and veterinary science. These programs lay the groundwork for further advanced studies.
