Louisiana Technical College’s Shelby Jackson campus in the city of Ferriday is a public institution committed to providing career-training opportunities for the residents of Concordia County.Students can enroll in occupation-specific certificate programs to receive hands-on training. Certificate programs are designed to accommodate the needs of the local job market. Students can choose from a long list of concentrations including Building Technology Specialist, Emergency Medical Technology, Nursing Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Practical Nursing, Information Communication Technology, Phlebotomy, and several more.
Associate’s degrees are offered in a variety of vocational fields as well, or can be offered in General Education. Students wishing to receive more in-depth knowledge in their vocational field should pursue an associate’s degree. Students interested in transferring to a four-year university are encouraged to earn their degree in General Education.
