Caz is a very small college in a pretty little village. Caz is not difficult to get into and it has a majority of women over men by a good margin. The kids that I know that go there seem to like it. What schools are you comparing it to?

Question: Which college should I choose?

I'm having a dilemma. Assuming that I get into each school, I need to choose between two colleges. Cazenovia College is a small college in upstate New York. The school has about 911 students in it currently. I've visited, loved the town, and the small school size. I'm planning on studying Equine Business Management at the school, and it has an excellent riding facility. The only thing is is that it is a private school and will cost around $32,000 per year but my parents will pay for only a little bit. It is also 4 hours away from home. The other school I am interested in is UCONN, Connecticut's main state college. The tuition is much cheaper, at around $20,000 per year and my parents will pay for it. It's close to home, only about 45 minutes away. I'd be studying Equine Science there, and it is just as good as Cazenovia's program. However, the campus is huge. I feel like there's too many people. But I still would consider going there. Which is the better choice in your opinion?

If you really are pretty sure that you want to go into that field, you would probably be safe at Cazenovia, assuming you anticipate that the field would earn you enough to be able to repay the loans in the long run. UConn has a much broader reputation, so if you were talking about going on to grad school or going into a field in which you would have to impress potential employers with the school at which you got your degree, I would have recommended that. With a school that is as small as Cazenovia, there is always a danger that it could eventually go out of business, and your degree might not be valued as much. However, if your plan is to do something like run a stables, there would be relatively little snobbery in that way, so I think you would be fine anyway. I went to a large undergrad school and was completely overwhelmed by it, so I dropped out twice before transferring elsewhere. I don't think I would ever have looked at a school like Cazenovia, which is less than 1/3 the size of my high school, but it sounds like you have been there and seen it and are comfortable with it. I would vote for that for you.

Question: Does anyone know the SAT requirement for cazenovia college?

Im looking at cazenovia college and it looks like a good school, but im not sure what is the SAT requirement. And if anybody attends to the school please tell me alittle about it please (you like it or not) (pros cons)

I taught at Cazenovia College many years ago when I was a graduate student. It is a very small college in a very nice little village about 20 miles outside of Syracuse. They have an excellent riding program, if you're into equestrian events. They are very aware of learning disabilities, and have good support systems for LD students. The professors are quite good, and most are very caring. Class sizes are very small, and one-on-one attention is the norm. Everyone knows everyone. On the other hand, the college is not very selective (almost anyone can get in), and therefore the academics are not terribly rigorous. The library is minuscule. You may have to use interlibrary loan a lot for basic research materials. However, Caz students do have access to the libraries at Syracuse U, as well as Lemoyne College. Going to these libraries is often a better plan than using interlibrary loan. Students drive to Syracuse regularly, for library access, cultural events, shopping, and entertainment. Caz does not require SATs or ACTs, but does recommend them, so most applicants submit them. The average SAT scores last year were: SAT Critical Reading: 430 - 540 SAT Math: 420 - 530 SAT Writing: This part is new, so no figures are available yet, but the average will probably be in the same range as the reading and math scores. The average ACT Composite score was between 18 and 23.
