The college currently offers 87 degree and certificate programs. The student body consists of more than 8,500 undergraduate students. CCM was founded in 1965.

In addition to its adult services, CCM also has a robust summer camp program for middle and high school students. Dr. Tayder Biddle of the summer program board has plans of expanding the course to even more subjects for the 2008 summer.

Smoking Ban

The County College of Morris is a smoke-free campus as of January 1, 2007. It is one of the first public colleges to ban smoking entirely. The decision to ban smoking was a project of the 2005-2006 Student Government Association, claiming that by having designated smoking areas, the university is silently promoting it. Additional reasons for the ban included the proof that bans help and encourage people to quit smoking, the fact that smoking is only allowed on campus because it was grandfathered in (i.e. if smoking was discovered today, colleges and universities would enforce strict policies against it), and health issues.

Notable alumni

  • Joe McEwing (1972-), played for the New York Mets.
  • Adam Riggs (1972-), former Los Angeles Angels player known for his misspelled "Angees" jersey in a 2003 game, as well as his name being mentioned on the Mitchell report.
