The County College of Morris mission is to deliver dynamic, challenging, high quality and accessible programs and services that support the individual's quest for lifelong education and professional advancement.
County College of Morris (also known as CCM) is a two-year, public community college located off of Route 10 on Center Grove Road in Randolph Township, New Jersey, serving Morris County, New Jersey. The college currently offers 87 degree and certificate programs. The student body consists of more than 8,500 undergraduate students. CCM was founded in 1965.
In addition to its adult services, CCM also has a robust summer camp program for middle and high school students. This includes courses in rocketry to astronomy's as well as rigorous academic material in math, science, and history. Dr. Tayder Biddle of the summer program board has plans of expanding the course to even more subjects for the 2008 summer.
CCM is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and has the highest graduation rate among the 19 county colleges in the state of New Jersey
The County College of Morris is a smoke-free campus as of January 1, 2007. It is one of the first public colleges to ban smoking entirely. The decision to ban smoking was a project of the 2005-2006 Student Government Association, claiming that by having designated smoking areas, the university is silently promoting it. Additional reasons for the ban included the proof that bans help and encourage people to quit smoking, the fact that smoking is only allowed on campus because it was grandfathered in (i.e. if smoking was discovered today, colleges and universities would enforce strict policies against it), and health issues.
