Best AnswerFIT is a public college so whatever money you save in tuition you can use for housing, which is hands down your biggest expense in NYC. |
Question: I was accepted into Fashion Institute of technology (FIT) and Ryerson University for fashion. which do i pick?I'm from Canada, and I can't decide which of those schools to go to. Which is more prestigious? Which is a better school for fashion design?32 months ago
Best AnswerWhile you can certainly get a fine education at Ryerson, FIT is much more prestigious. FIT's alumni include Carolina Herrera, Calvin Klein, Norma Kamali, and Michael Kors, and it is in NYC, which is the heart of the North American fashion industry. Ryerson's program is actually stronger in interior design than in fashion. |
Question: Fashion Institute Technology (F.I.T.)? Good? Bad?Fashion Institute Technology (F.I.T.), can someone give me info on it. Ive been to the website and stuff but i need others info on it. Good? Bad? whatever please anything would be helpful33 months ago
Best AnswerI'm actually a freshmen majoring in Advertising and Marketing communications. I love it and everyone that I know that goes there loves it too. Make sure that u pick a major that u want to pursue. I've seen people do a semester at F.I.T and then switch to gynecology and dentistry. The location is great and the professors have lots of experience in the field since most of them actually work while teaching at F.I.T. People always focus on the fashion but they have a business part as well. It's not easy to get into and highly competitive. That's what most people complain about. Good Luck if u apply. |
Question: fashion institute of technology?ok so this is my dream school, but for fashion merchandisng not design. and one guidance counselor says that its perfect for merchandising while the other one said its not and its a school where id need a portfolio even for merchandising. so im confused ive researched it and they have their own campus thing for the business aspect, but why would guidance counselor say that it was soley an art/design school? i need help from anybody with FIT expeirence, and only those people or people who can answer the question and not give me dumb answers just for the points. thanks34 months ago
Best AnswerI'm actually a freshmen at F.I.T in the AMC (Advertising and Marketing Communications) Major. U don't need a portfolio for FMM (Fashion Merchandising Management) because it's in the School of Business and Technology not the School of Art and Design. Plus I have tons of friends that are in the FMM major and they did not have to submit a portfolio. It's a great school for FMM. Good Luck!!!!!!!! |
Question: Is FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in New York, NY a good school?FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in New York, NY seems to be very cheap (about 9,000 for learning and 9,000 for room and board, not including books) but it is well known. Is it a good school? I am just curious about why it is so cheap. Those prices are for a person living out of state with no scholarships! It just seems to good to be true unless it is a bad school! Thanks so much!34 months ago
Best AnswerYes it is a very good school. The reasons it costs so much less is because it is a state school. If you live in NY it's even cheeper. It's very well known. Because it is so heep though it can be harer to get into What is important to know about looking at fashion design schools in NY is that a lot of the teachers teach at the other fashion design school in NY so the teaching quality is roughly the same. But the diffrent school have diffrences in curriculum. If youre looking at fashion design schools in ny also look into Pratt and Parsons. I go to Pratt. |
Question: I am torn between the Fashion Institute of Technology and going to Cazenovia College, what should i do??I am looking into going to a fashion school and live in a small town, FIT is a huge school and right in NYC and is known for its fashion (obviously) and Cazenovia gives more individual attention and is small. I dont know what I should do!40 months ago
Best AnswerApply to both. FIT is much harder to get into than Cazenovia. Let FIT be your "aspirational" school, and let Cazenovia be your "safety" school. (I taught at Caz many years ago, while I was a PhD student!) |
