San Jac Description
“We offer lots of great services that make it a little easier and a little more fun for you”, reads one of the headings on the San Jacinto College website. Whether you’re on the campus or surfing the website, San Jacinto College's Central Campus in Pasadena, TX does its best to create a welcoming and convenient atmosphere for its students.
It all starts with the location: the Pasadena campus is just one of three San Jacinto locations in the greater Houston metro area, with easy access to the city center.
Another way San Jacinto offers ease and enjoyment is with small class sizes, which allow each student optimal one-on-one attention.
Offering a decent crop of majors and associate’s degree programs in the sciences, business, humanities and trades, San Jacinto guides each student on his or her educational journey. Such guidance includes extensive career tests and professional one-on-one counseling. To add to the convenience, San Jacinto also provides online career guidance in the form of salary calculators and career descriptors.
A number of other online resources provide the same ease of access. These include an online help desk, online libraries and “SOS,” a site which allows you to access transcripts and other personal info.
Regarding the educational experience as more than academics, San Jacinto has extended its pleasant and convenient experience into all areas of college life. The bookstore, for example, is the first college bookshop in the U.S. to feature a café. There are also extracurricular activities in the arts, sports and other recreational involvements.
Student services are also intended to create convenience and enjoyment and include free tutoring services, an on-campus post office, a golf course and a fitness center.
