Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Walker County campus offers far more than the average number of professional training programs.
Located in Rock Spring, Georgia, GNTC has additional campuses located throughout Rome as well as in Rockmart, Calhoun and Dalton.
Associate’s degrees, career certificates and diplomas in promising career fields as well as degrees leading to transfers are all available at GNTC.
Numerous and wide-ranging, GNTC’s academics include more common majors such as Accounting, Automotive Repair, Aviation Technology, Commercial Truck Driving, Dental Assisting, Firefighting, Medical Assisting and Radiography.
However, GNTC’s more than 100 programs of study include training in much more specialized professions as well. Among them are Baking, Occupational Therapy Assisting, Echocardiography, Horticulture, Mammography and Social Work Assisting.
At its various campus centers, GNTC also provides adult education options, training students in basic skills such as ESL and GED preparation.
Student life at GNTC, which includes academic groups and honors societies, helps students to cultivate academic, professional and leadership skills.
Admissions require that students have a high school diploma or equivalency by the time they graduate from GNTC. All students must either take a placement test, or submit SAT or ACT scores prior to enrolling.
Financial aid is available to eligible students to assist with tuition and other expenses.
