CRAS Description

If you’re interested in an education in audio production, Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences (CRAS) might be the right place for you.

Many CRAS graduates start careers in music recording, movie sound, and video game audio. Some of them have even worked as sound engineers on albums that were awarded with American Music Awards and Grammy Awards.

The school offers programs in Master Recording that can be completed in less than one year. Thirty weeks are spent between two CRAS campuses: 15 weeks at the main Tempe location, and 15 weeks at the Gilbert satellite location. After that, students finish the final 12 weeks of the program with hands-on internships anywhere in the US.

As part of the CRAS curriculum, students are provided with a “Studio in a Bag.” This includes unlimited access to classroom materials on campus and online, textbooks, MacBook Pro laptop computer, headphones and microphones, and more.

Applications for admissions can be submitted online along with applications for financial aid. The school accepts federal and private sources of financial aid from those who qualify.
