Description

New York’s American Musical and Dramatic Academy is a world renowned college focused on entertainment, talent, discipline and determination. The teachers at AMDA are the best of their industry and students begin performing on their very first day.

The New York branch of AMDA offers something other colleges do not: a backstage pass to New York City’s performing arts scene. AMDA NY also provides students with performance theatres, rehearsal space, editing facilities, performing arts libraries, computer labs, a student store and fully furnished student housing with 24-hour security.

For students concerned about tuition prices and the cost of living in New York, AMDA gives financial aid to eligible students through scholarships every year. This school offers institutionally funded, merit-based awards for students who can demonstrate need, dedication and talent. Typically, these awards are given to students based on the results of their audition, application and FAFSA.

The American Musical and Dramatic Academy offers four specific academic fields: acting, dance theater, musical theater, and performing arts. However, within each field students will be able to experience a range of styles, disciplines, and build a solid performance foundation.

Campus life at AMDA combines what students have learned in the classroom with relaxed events with friends. Each month students get together to share their work with their peers through stand-up comedy, original music, monologues, sketches and dance. These Cafe Performances allow students to have a little fun while showing off what they have learned.
