AMDA provides students the opportunity to study their craft in the two leading entertainment centers of the world - Los Angeles and New York City.
AMDA is located at 211 West 61st Street (between Amsterdam and West End Ave.) and at 2109 Broadway in an historic landmark beaux-arts building, The Ansonia. The 61st Street location has four floors of newly renovated studios and private voice rooms, a 125-seat theatre, student lounge, newly remodeled library and the AMDA store. The AMDA store features a daily selection of sandwiches and wraps as well as healthy snack foods. Additional studios, a student lounge with a large screen television and Internet access are located in student housing at 70th Street and 85th Street. In essence, the AMDA campus is the Upper West Side, one of New York City’s favored areas.
There is no better place in the world for you to train as an actor than in New York City. It is a center for the arts, and thousands of performers practice their craft in the city. The glamour of Broadway is legendary, but films, opera, ballet, symphonies, television, dance, oratorio, and hundreds of diverse plays are being created and performed in New York every day.
