Description

A pioneer and leader in the field of modern dance, Merce Cunningham was the founder of and long-time instructor at the appropriately named Merce Cunningham Dance Studio in New York City.

In addition to hosting and touring renowned performances of contemporary and avant-garde dance, Merce Cunningham conducts classes for aspiring and practicing dancers.

Basic through advanced classes are taught by faculty members who are seasoned professionals with an impressive list of dance and teaching credits.

Those wishing to enroll in basic-level courses do not need any experience, while those interested in more advanced classes will need to have some previous dance experience.

In addition to hosting classes, Merce rents out its studio space at highly reduced rate for students.

Since the school is located in the heart of New York City, students at Merce have the benefit of seeing performances by some of the world’s most respected dancers.

Students at Merce pay for each class individually and fees for courses may vary.
