Description

A spiritually energetic and invigorating community, comprehensive academics and numerous special programs of study are just some of the highlights of a Taylor University education.

Located in Upland, Indiana, Taylor University is an evangelical, interdenominational Christian school.

The spiritual life is the foundation and the essence of the Taylor University experience. Students examine ideas from a Christian perspective, and outside of class they attend chapel services and fellowship with other students, and engage in charitable community service and outreach ministries.

However, Taylor University still manages to also nurture the intellect. Admissions are selective, with a significant number of admitted Taylor students in the top 10% of their graduating high school class.

Since the mission of Taylor is to also nurture each student’s individual talents and gifts, Taylor offers a range of majors that encompass many disciplines. Some of the many majors available include:

*Computer Engineering
*Environmental Engineering
*Psychology of Biology
*Education
*Social Work
*Film and Media Production
*History
*Music
*Sociology
*Theatre Arts

Taylor even has special programs that allow students to undertake interdisciplinary majors, a yearlong program in Ireland and a summer study for high school students.

Those seeking admission will need to submit an application, transcripts, an essay, a pastoral and a guidance counselor recommendation.

Many Taylor students receive financial aid, which is usually a combination of grants, loans and scholarships. Students must fill out a FAFSA to be considered. The decision to award aid is based on income, how many students are in school and, in the case of certain scholarships, how many family members are in college.
