Description
Students at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School may expect both high-tech, progressive offerings and a friendly, personalized environment. SCCC offers associate’s degrees and certificates in various subject areas, including medical, technical, industrial and academic disciplines. There are also non-credit courses available through the Business and Industry program which supports its local Kansas workforce.
With a small student body, SCCC promises a low student-to-teacher ratio and, therefore, more personal attention.
Student-services are also highly personalized; college success seminars, guided computer use, workshops in math and English and career counseling are all conducted one-on-one or in small groups.
However, SCCC’s offerings are high-tech and progressive. For example, its Learning Resource Center, where students may receive tutoring, offers technologically up-to-date resources.
Also progressive is SCCC’s student-housing offerings. Though it is a two-year college, SCCC provides on-campus dormitory and apartment-style housing for students who desire it. All residences feature computer labs, game rooms, laundry, cable and wi-fi access.
Financial aid offerings at SCCC consist of scholarships, grants, loans and work-study for eligible students.
