ECCC Description

East Central Community College (ECCC) serves residents of Decatur, Mississippi, of all ages, backgrounds and with all types of educational objectives.

ECCC academics are divided into several categories. There are career-oriented healthcare programs, which include associate’s degrees in:

  • Nursing
  • Paramedic Technology
  • Practical Nursing
  • Surgical Technology

ECCC also offers career-oriented associate’s degrees in technical careers like:

  • Carpentry
  • Cosmetology
  • Welding

ECCC awards an associate’s degree in liberal arts, as well. This is ideal for those who wish to transfer to a bachelor’s degree program.

Non-degree-seeking students who have yet to earn their high school diploma may benefit from ECCC’s GED-prep and basic skills courses.

East Central Community College also operates the Workforce Education Division. This division serves multiple purposes: it offers advanced skills training to local business and job retraining for individuals seeking new careers, and also provides workforce training for disabled individuals and high school students.

ECCC’s college life activities meet different interests, as well. There are student publications, performing arts opportunities and various types of student organizations and clubs.
