LCSC Description

Lewis & Clark College is a small, private school in Portland, Oregon, that offers comprehensive and quality academics. Other highlights of a Lewis & Clark education include a unique first-year program and numerous study abroad opportunities.

Lewis & Clark’s academics have consistently received high praise from U.S. News and World Report and Princeton Review.

Lewis & Clark offers more than 25 majors and more than 25 minors in various disciplines. Examples of majors and minors include:

Most classes are small and students receive a substantial amount of one-on-one attention from faculty.

Lewis & Clark is also known for its unique Exploration and Discovery seminar, a comprehensive program for first-year students. The seminar integrates classical Greek and Latin texts, history and psychology. The Exploration and Discovery program also helps students to refine writing and speaking skills.

Lewis & Clark boasts an excellent study abroad program, as well, which allows students to study in more than 35 countries. More than 60% of Lewis & Clark students have chosen to take advantage of these study abroad opportunities.

Student life activities include various clubs and organizations, spiritual and religious groups and recreational and performing arts activities.

Applicants must submit an admissions application and transcripts or a copy of their GED. Lewis & Clark will also consider homeschooled students. Students with an exceptional academic record may request a waiver of ACT or SAT scores.

Lewis & Clark offers need-based financial aid, including loans and grants. Students may also apply for scholarships, which are based on academic performance. To apply for financial aid, applicants must submit a FAFSA.

I absolutely love Lewis-Clark State College. They have great professors and the campus is absolutely gorgeous. It's small and easy to get around, with that said, I would suggest prospective students to get a map. It's always nice to know what buildings you have to go to.
