Description
Ohlone College in Fremont, California doesn’t just provide career training and transfer programs in a variety of subject-areas. Ohlone also offers highly specific areas of study in everything from the creative arts to computers. The more than 180 academic programs Ohlone include such in-demand fields as nursing, physical therapy assistance, medical assisting and business.
Since approximately 20,000 students take courses at Ohlone every year, courses span the gamut of interests and feature highly specified training as seen by Ohlone’s creative arts offerings.
Creative arts programs include approximately a dozen programs in visual art as well as courses in Music Video Production, Stagecraft, Costuming, Radio Broadcasting, Film and Television Production, Audiotechnology, Choreography, Entertainment Design, Vocal Performance and a variety of others.
More than 50 highly specific programs in computers as well as a number of engineering degrees and certificates may also be found at Ohlone.
While many students use their Ohlone degree or training to launch a career, many also transfer to such schools as Cal State East Bay, San Francisco State University and other Cal State as well as UC schools.
Student services at Ohlone are comprehensive as well and include tutoring, career development, disability services, counseling and extended opportunity services.
Ohlone has an open admissions policy, which means that anyone with a high school diploma or GED may attend.
