Tucson Area Colleges

The Tucson area is best known for the University of Arizona, which has the second largest student body in the state. The University of Phoenix also has a campus here. Pima Community College has six campuses throughout the Tucson area. Career-based colleges in the region include Tucson College, DeVoe College of Beauty, HDS Truck Driving Institute, Pure Aesthetics skincare school and the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Also notable is The Art Institute of Tucson.

About the Tucson Area

Tucson is just 6o miles north of the Mexican border and is sometimes called “The Old Pueblo.” You’ll find no shortage of amazing Mexican food. The desert city is surrounding by five mountain ranges so hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing are all popular. Golf courses are also popular throughout the region because of the year round warm weather—though you’ll have to deal with the heat from April through October. Top attractions include the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum, Saguaro National Park, Sabino Canyon and the Pima Air and Space Museum.
