Oakland Colleges
Oakland, the Detroit of the West or just “Oaktown”, is the eighth largest city in California. Oakland is home to the headquarters of the University of California system, numerous universities, colleges, both public and private, as well as institutes of technology, aesthetics and nursing. University of California Berkeley is located just outside of Oakland. Notable institutions include California College of the Arts one of the premier art and design colleges in the US, Mills College the first womens college west of the Rockies, and Holy Names University.
