San Francisco Colleges

San Francisco, The Golden Gate City, is the fourth most populous city in California hosts numerous colleges and universities and various specialty institutions in the arts, culinary arts, technology, and medicine. Notable institutions include the University of California San Francisco which is among the top five medical schools in the country, The City College of San Francisco which is one of the largest two-year community colleges in the country and University of San Francisco, focused on liberal arts is one of the oldest universities established west of the Mississippi. Higher education in the arts may be obtained at the San Francisco Art Institute, the Academy of Art University, and an extension of the Oakland-based California College of the Arts. The San Francisco Conservatory of Music, grants degrees in orchestral instruments, chamber music, composition, and conducting. The California Culinary Academy, associated with the Le Cordon Bleu program, offers programs in the culinary, baking, pastry arts and hospitality & restaurant management.
