San Francisco, The Golden Gate City, is the fourth most populous city in California hosts numerous colleges and universities and various specialty institutions in the arts, culinary arts, technology, and medicine. Notable institutions include the University of California San Francisco which is among the top five medical schools in the country, The City College of San Francisco which is one of the largest two-year community colleges in the country and University of San Francisco, focused on liberal arts is one of the oldest universities established west of the Mississippi.
