St. Louis Area Colleges

In the St. Louis area, which contains regions of Illinois, there are a diverse range of colleges and universities to choose from including nursing, religious, vocational and research institutions. Reputable colleges in the St. Louis area include the research-oriented Washington University St. Louis, Saint Louis University and Webster University. The region is home to the public Southern Illinois University, Blessing Riemann College of Nursing and the vocational-centered Gem City College. Finally, the St. Louis area also hosts the St. Louis Community Colleges, Missouri Baptist College and the oldest and largest Lutheran seminary in the U.S. Concordia Seminary.

About the St. Louis Area

Located near the Mississippi River and the Missouri River, much of the St. Louis area rests on a gentle rolling prairie. The region boasts a lively music scene; Tina Turner and Miles Davis got their start here, as well as big spectator sports, and beautiful parks and gardens like the expansive Forest Park. Attractions include the infamous Gateway Arch, the fantastical City Museum, which contains faux caves and unique exhibits, St. Louis Zoo and the Contemporary Art Museum.
