Climatology is the scientific study of atmospheric processes. Climatology seeks to predict atmospheric phenomena and study climate conditions in their current and historical contexts. Climatology students receive instruction in climate modeling, gases and aerosols, trace gases, aqueous phase chemistry, sinks, transport mechanisms, computer measurement, climate variability, paleoclimatology, climate diagnosis, numerical modeling and data analysis, ionization, recombination, photoemission, and plasma chemistry.
