Although I've just been accepted for Game Art and Animation in the fall of 2014, last year I went to a two-week game development academy over the summer. The professors were industry professionals who knew how to teach well. They were patient, clear-spoken, concise, and efficient in teaching us as much useful information as they could within the two week class period. Champlain is known for having an average class size of around 18 and there were around 23 in the academy. Even so, all questions were tended to. The workload was challenging but manageable. You were informed that the project scopes were yours, since you were making games that you designed, and how much work was needed was your choice. You could have a really awesome game, but that meant you would need to give up a little free time to work on it.
