About NCC

New Community Workforce Development Center offers career training programs and comprehensive assistance to help low-income individuals fulfill their potential.

New Community Workforce Development Center provides career training in secure professions. These include a program in Allied Health (Certified Home Health Aide, EKG Technician, Certified Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician and Patient Care Technician), Building Trades (Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC), an Automotive Technician program and a Culinary Arts program.

In addition to training individuals for promising careers, New Community Workforce Development has a career placement service that aims to help students find jobs. New Community Workforce Development's career placement service provides excellent support, from counseling to job referrals to follow-ups. The Financial Opportunity Center is also available to students. The goal of the center is to help low to moderate income families boost earnings, reduce expenses and make appropriate financial decisions that lead to asset building through an integrated service model approach.

New Community Workforce Development Center also offers a high school equivalency program (called Academic Enrichment) available only to Newark residents between the ages of 16 and 24.

Located in Newark, New Jersey, New Community Workforce Development Center is part of New Community Corporation (NCC), which provides affordable housing, food assistance, support for utility bills, health care assistance, substance abuse counseling and other services for eligible senior citizens, single parents, families and the disabled.

Committed to helping all in need, NCC also has a transitional housing facility for the homeless.
