Overall
Every individual will have their own experience. I have met a lot of people from different countries and this is probably my favorite thing about the university. I think the natural setting is what I'm really in love with. There are a lot of outdoor activities at SIUC.
Academics
I learned a lot from my Anthropology courses. Most of my professors traveled to different countries and were able to share there experiences. I was fortunate to study abroad in Egypt and Kenya it was great!
College Life
There are a lot of new student activities. I used to live in the dorms my first two years at SIUC. I loved the experience of meeting new people. I learned a lot of lessons good and bad. There are a lot of clubs and organizations.

Overall
Overall I'm very pleased with this school. My favorite part is the campus itself. It's very beautiful and everything is close together. You can walk from one side to the other in 15 minutes. The dorms are a lot nicer and much larger than those at other schools. Tips for any incoming students: go to class!
Academics
Academics is one of the best part about this school. Despite what you may think SIUC is a highly regarded for it's programs and offers a lot of opportunity inside the classroom. The professors are top notch and class sizes are usually pretty small when getting into your major studies.
College Life
This is the only complaint I have this school. If you don't like to party you may find yourself rather bored on the weekends as almost everyone goes to the bar and/or drinks. Clubs are limited and sports aren't all that great. Safety on campus is pretty tight however the surrounding area can be troublesome at times but nothing happens here that won't in any other college town.

I loved how the school was set on the edge of the Shawnee National Forest. The campus is breathtaking in the fall especially. The nightlife was great at the time that I went to school. I'm not sure how it is now. The diversity of the campus was great.
Academics
The english department had many talented professors and writers. The classroom sizes were great. Everyone was able to be a part of the circle of discussion. Faner hall was the hub for all of the humanities majors. The professors in the English department were always available to help when needed. The creative writing magazine was especially great to work on.
College Life
On the week-end or after school there was a plethora of things to do, from hiking to boating on campus lake. The pathways on campus are well lit. Downtown, the coffeeshops are the best! There are a few areas downtown to check out, including the strip and the downtown pavillion area. The strip is where all of the bars are and the pavillion
