Overall

Washington State University is an excellent university. I have had wonderful professors who were well verse and had an incredible amount of knowledge. I also loved the campus life. Cougs are down-earth people who are up for anything. There is everything from country swing dancing nights to intramural sports to keynote speakers to go to. I would not trade my experience for any other experience another university could have offered me.

Academics

I am in the Kinesiology department. It is a medium sized department which is filled with professors who really care about their students. My professors know my name and try to help me understand the material.

College Life

The college life is great. Since Pullman is a small town, it is easier to get to know other students because people do not leave on the weekends. There is a popular dance spot called CJs at which tons of people come every Wednesday night to country swing dance.

Overall

I really like the school campus a lot but I hate how it's in a small town where there's nothing much to do but party. The teachers are really nice and so are the students. All my memorable experiences were making new friends and knowing my current boyfriend. A tips for prospective students is to learn how to not have too much fun in your freshman year and put your schoolwork aside because it matters in the long run. Don'r procrastinate too much (I learned the hard way).

Academics

My school's classes are really nice. Although some of the class sizes are super big while some are really small. All my professors have been pretty nice so far except for one strict one that graded me really bad. The workload is manageable but it can get a little crazy sometimes.

College Life

The social atmosphere here is really good! Everyone's really nice and friendly. The clubs are easy to join. I am part of the breakdance club in my school and it's really fun. The campus safety here is awesome. I never feel like I am in danger here. Even when I am walking somewhere late at night. For weekend activities, I always go shopping or hang out with friends and party.

Going to Washington State University is such an awesome experience! The surroundings are gorgeous and the atmosphere in Pullman is really fun. It's easy to make friends in your classes since everyone lives on campus. Football games are awesome, it's like Christmas day every time there is a home game. I have enjoyed most of my classes, there are a range of teachers, I have had some mediocre ones and some amazing ones too. The night life is hard to beat, if you feel like going out there are always several choices but staying in is also a normal option. Moscow, Idaho is about 10 miles away and it is also a great college town to hang out at. If you give Pullman a chance, you will absolutely love it!!

Academics

The class sizes here range from 25 to a few hundred. All the classes I ave taken have been manageable, there is a lot of tutoring available for students and teachers are usually pretty good about being clear and answering e mails. If you go to class and use the resources available, classes and work loads are reasonable.

College Life

The atmosphere in Pullman is great, it is cozy and upbeat at the same time. Going to college in a small town is fun because no matter who you meet, chances are they live in Pullman or Moscow and are up to hanging out sometime. The campus feels really safe since it is such a college town. It is hard to describe the life here but it's amazing living here and whenever you go home, you miss everything about Pullman so much!

Overall

I transferred to Washington State University my sophomore year after attending another school in the state. Washington State offered an amazing campus and lifestyle that is unlike any other I've toured. It is a way to experience small town life while simultaneously receiving a top rate education. The students, faculty and community make it easy for a student to learn and grow as an individual.

Academics

I participated in the Criminal Justice Program at Washington State University. The classes were interesting and challenging and the professors really seemed concerned with students success. The courses I took for core requirements were very informative and useful. Class size was generally low, 15 to 50, but larger for basic 100 or 200 level courses.

College Life

The social atmosphere of Washington State University was a wonderful experience. I participated in the Greek System which has allowed me to maintain friendships with a wonderful group of women. There are a number of academic and social service clubs, volunteer opportunities and sporting events to attend on and off campus. The town is small so there is a limited amount of bars, restaurants and entertainment options.

Overall

I loved Pullman because it puts you in the mood for school being out of the city life. The town loves the students because they are the life blood of the community rather than hating them. My senior year was a bit bizarre as we had a student's boyfriend bring a bomb to the dorm and blew it up. The staff were great in that they were able to save everyone except the bomber. My dorm was right next door and I was lifted off the floor. I thought it was the chemistry bldg or a very big car crash. It only took a few minutes to find out. Later that night about 10 pm, we were ordered out of the dorm immediately as they thought the bomber may have another in his car parked in the lot. There was no bomb in the car but they took great caution in making sure we were safe. Then in May, Mt. St. Helen's blew. So it was a year that I never forget! Even though all of this happened, I felt safe and cared for by the school.

Academics

I had some great classes. Since I was in Sociology/Social Work, I had a lot of classes that were small when it came to subjects rather than theory. One of the best classes I had was taught by a grad student who had been in the 60's protest and he taught the sociology of groups. I had no idea how valuable that class was to me as I ended up in law enforcement and worked with gangs emerging in the 80's

College Life

I played flag football, intertube water polo, basketball and softball. Our team was a mix of students who all were connected one way or another. I also went to dances and enjoyed the night life in Idaho. I worked in the library for work study and it was a great job. Then haning out in the CUB between classes or meeting for coffee, lunch etc...You always see people you know. I attended football and basketballgames, drama dept productions and concerts. It was a great time! I was paying my own way through school and I could not afford Greek Life but I had a very good time with the activities I did take part in and I had quite a few friends who were Greek, too.. We did have a few parties as well and they were never out of control. School work came first and if you needed help any body who could was happy to help.

My department took exceptiOnal interest in us as individuals and as group. They promoted classroom and. community learning. Current research and pragmatic data were emphasized. WSU/Pullman are a closeknit setting-students and staff are involved in the community!

Academics

The Education Department provided a rich curriculum, as well as encouraging us to take coursework from other disciplines. Professors and PhD candidates taught all courses. Most classes were 40 or less students, and many lab sections were much smaller.

College Life

WAZZU is abuzz with campus life. From dorm/Greek living sItuations to leadership/recreational activities, students can explore to find their niche. When arriving as a new or transfer students, ASWSU promote extensive opportunities for exploring and getting involved.

School is amazing. Student life and the atmosphere is literally the best of any campus I have ever been too. The football games in the fall can not be beat. The housing is great, the community is amazing and the education was great. I feel that I changed for the better because of attending WSU. GO COUGS!

Academics

Great education. Felt that it prepared me well for post school. I was able to land a great job right out of college and still use to this day the things I learned to assist me now in my role as business development manager. The teachers were great, classes were great.

College Life

This is the best part about WSU. It is like one big family . The night life and Cougar Football Saturdays are something I will always remember as some of the best times in my life. Campus felt safe and the community is really unified. The weekends are the best I have ever had! GO COUGS!
