Overall

The school has a wide variety of courses and majors. plenty of resources and options available. the courses are pretty much designed to transfer to tons of colleges, especially in state. close to home, at least for me it was. good communication with the student body. great option for higher learning, both in education and cost.

Academics

i can't complain about most of my classes. a select few teachers i had were not so great for me, but that's a personal preference. workload for me was decent, i was still able to handle my part time job while going to waubonsee. class size depends on the class you take. the programs for many majors are pretty well-organized and spelled out. it was easy for me to follow those guidelines and earn my A.S.

Campus Facilities & Safety

open atmosphere. the only issue with the openness when you walk outside is when it's cold and windy, there's nothing to protect you! but i guess that's besides the point. anyways, the buildings are taken care of and some are currently being upgraded. computer labs are great and easy to use/find. i always felt safe on campus.

Overall

i like this school. i think starting your career at a community college is a great choice. they have less fees and if you get financial aid it covers at least all of the tuition fees. there are four campuses and also online coarse available at this school. it is very flexible.

Academics

the professors at this school are very polite. until now not even a single teacher was bad for me. they help out a lot. class size is 20 - 25 for a single section. classes combined are more than one section like biology classes and there are upto 40 students in those classes.

Campus Facilities & Safety

the atmosphere is clean and fresh. they have cafeterias.they have computer labs but they should have more computers at the main campus because sometimes the students have to wait for the computer at the main campus.

Overall

Overall I was extremely impressed by Waubonsee. A lot of people back home make fun of it because it is "only" a community college. That may be true but is absolutely a quality education. The administration is 100% student focused which was a welcome change from the 4-year university I left. I would recommend any high school graduate in the area to look into Waubonsee. It is affordable and more than worth the money you spend for the education you get.

Academics

My professors are great, they take the time to get to know us even though it is a community college. They make themselves available for help when students need it and they genuinely care about our education. I have no problems with the workload in any of my classes nor the class size. My largest class probably has only 25 students.

Campus Facilities & Safety

Safety is a non-issue, I have never felt anywhere close to unsafe here. The campus is a clean and generally nice place to be. It is near a forest preserve and there is a small pond on campus, honestly it is very pretty.
