Reviews for University of Evansville
I love the fact that it is a small school and all your professors really get to know you and care about your success. Because of the small class sizes it is also very easy to get to know your classmates and become good friends.
I am an Archaeology major. The University of Evansville is one of very few schools to offer a major in archaeology in this area. Because archaeology is such a unique field of study there are relatively few students in my program but those who are in it are very passionate about it. The professors are also very passionate about their work and because the classes usually average around twenty students they always have time to help and are happy to do so.
There is always something going on on campus (or right next door since technically the frat houses are off campus). All of the soroities are very involved in the community and hold many fundraising and community service events throughout the year.
This has been a good fit for my daughter. We are so glad she decided to attend. It is big enough for her, and not too small. She gets personal attention when she seeks it. I feel that the professors and the advisor she has have taken time to get to know her. She has plenty to do on the weekends. Everyone tends to be open and friendly there.
My daughter works hard for her grades. She is in an intensive program in Athletic Training which demands a great deal of time working with the teams she is assigned to. Anatomy and Physiology has been her idemanding class. All her classes are smaller, 20-30 except for the A&P which is a bigger lecture, yet they have smaller lab groups. They start working on cadavers in the first semester of freshmen year. That was an eye opening experience.
My daughter always seems to be busy with something when she is not studying. She joined Greek life and enjoys all the extra activities she gets involved with and the sisterhood she shares. It has added to her friends and support system. She enjoys going to the basketball games, and the other sports she participates in with her AT hours. She has never expressed a fear of being on campus. It seems to be a safe place. The worse thing that happened to her is the alarm going off in the middle of the morning when a tornado was spotted. She is very pleased with her choice and definitely will be returning .
This school had everything I am looking for. Small campus close student body great Graphics Arts program. I was meet with a warm welcome and felt very comfortable. I felt safe walking through campus..
The graphic arts department was up to date with all the latest technology equipments and programs. I feel I would be able to leave there and be gainfully employed after graduation. Small class size...
Campus life seems great plaenty of activities and clubs to join and take part in. Even the opportunity to start up new clubs. Very well lighted at night. Campus security very visible. Seems very close
