Overall

The campus is beautiful and Athens is a true college town. You can walk everywhere you need to be and have plenty of access to food and entertainment when you are not in class or attending a university sponsored function. I loved college green, the well kept landscapes and the red brick buildings. The students include a good blend from Ohio and other states in the midwest, but I also made many friends from around the USA. It is a fun atmosphere and a place where you need to get involved to get the full experience OU offers.

Academics

The classrooms were modern and the professors were not only good at their job, but they were called to teach. For the most part, the work load was manageable, but there were always long nights of studying for mid terms and finals. Most of the classes were on the smaller size, with the exception of the core classes that were large auditorium seating style. My counselor/adviser always made himself available and I trusted his advice. My professors and business school advisers definitely set me up for post-graduation success!

College Life

There is something for everyone to get involved in at OU. I was part of a business fraternity, social sorority and numerous intramural athletic teams. It was also a great school for avid sports fans. Most of the competitive sports were enjoyable and when the football team wasn't performing, at least you had a 1st class Ohio University Marching 110 band to entertain you.

Overall

I loved OU from the second that I stepped on campus. The beautiful campus is what drew me here. I am an out of state student but college has been one of the best experiences of my life. At OU, I was brought out of my shell from the second that I moved to campus. Even though I am far from home, I felt at home right away. I lived with 300 students that were having the same experience as me in a dorm. I had friends instantly because of the dorm life. When you move into a dorm, you will have friends instantly. There is so much to do on campus that you will never be bored. I am going to be so sad to leave this place in June because Athens feels like home now. I can't imagine living someplace else with the friends that I made not included.

Academics

At OU, you will get some of those big classes in your freshmen year. When you start to get in your major classes, the classes will go down to 20 or 30 students. You do get a lot of personal attention when your classes get a little smaller. Many times, the professors will try to learn your first name on the first day of class. Many professors also prefer you to call them their first name which makes it very personal. Also, professors are always available. They have office hours twice a week and sometimes will hold meetings when you are available. They always welcome questions and encourage students to come to their office hours. I have never had a huge problem with the workload. There are always those quarters that are more difficult than others, but for the most part it is very manageable. I try to only take one or two really hard classes a quarter so it evens out.

College Life

At OU, the nightlife is a big deal. Drinking is what a lot of OU students like to do. There are many bars here that the upperclass students love to go to at night. If drinking is not what you like to do, there are tons of other things to do. There are many clubs and organizations that students can participate in. There are club and intramural sports that many students choose to be a part of. There are also sororities and fraternities that are on campus but only 13% of campus are involved with those. There is a community service fraternity on campus that I am a part of. It is a perfect medium for me because it is social but also I get to do a lot of community service. There are countless opportunities for organizations on campus. If you have an interest, I am sure that you can find an organization that has that same focus. I have always felt very safe on campus. There are blue buttons all around campus that you can push if you may feel unsafe. The OU police department will be there right away.

Overall

I am focused on academics and so is Ohio University. It is a good fit. They are one of the few schools which have majors in both Zoology and Wildlife Biology. I have already found my favorite spot on campus looking out from the bridge.

Academics

Good Basketball team. Good faculty to student ratios. Rigorous academics and challenging classes. Professors appear to be readily available to help students with available office hours. Good support for new freshman. I like the idea of student help sessions and tutoring for tough classes. Focused on student success.

College Life

Many clubs and extra-curricular activities to get you involved. I am so excited about their Equestrian Club. The small town is a nice change from many big schools. Campus seems safe and relatively clean.

Overall

I think that Ohio University is a good school. It offers what I want to do in college which is music production and I believe that they will help me get to where I want to be in life. a speaker from Ohio University came to my school and explained that Ohio University is a good school to attend especially if you want the best for yourself.

Academics

My schools' classroom is not all that big it can fit at least 30 people in a room. We get a lot of work, but we have time in school to do our work and if we need help we can go to our teacher for help or other tutors in the school.

College Life

I wouldn't know because I'm not in college yet. But I hope that when I do get into college it will be fun and be able to experience things on my own. my plan is to join organization to keep me occupied of when I don't have work and tests to study for.
