Reviews for University of Notre Dame
Notre Dame provides a great education and an even better Alumni Network. I attended ND for both my undergraduate degree in accounting and my MBA in management, and highly recommend the school for both its academics and the overall student body.
Notre Dame's professors are very personable and really care about the students they teach. The class size is small which provides you a great opportunity to get to know your fellow students. In the business school, group work is a large component of the education model.
The Notre Dame campus is beautiful. The Notre Dame home football weekends are out of this world. The campus is very safe and it is 100% a walking campus. There are tons of clubs and organizations to keep students busy outside the classroom.
Great academics. A bit of a "bubble" - not tapped into a large market (i.e. Chicago). Recruiting for MBA students could improve. Small size of the program limits the hit rate for companies going on campus. Football games are a life experience. There are also great international programs.
MBA program- smaller program. Good curriculum. A bit heavy on ethics. Professors are top notch, but some are not tapped into the real world. Class size is adequate, but some clases are too small. The workload can be intense early on, then tapers off. It provides a good balance.
The off campus scene is ok, although can be dangerous. The town of South Bend is a bit run down. I would caution anyone moving there of areas to avoid and the fact that on campus and off campus are different worlds. Once you're out of the ND bubble, vigilance is key.
