Reviews for Eckerd College
Overall, I really love Eckerd College. What I like most is the close-knit, friendly environment. I have many memorable experiences but I would say that Autumn term was really the most fun I have ever had in my life!
Classes are small, average 21 students. The professors really get to know their students and are eager to help. Workload simply depends on what class, professor or major you are involved with. Some majors are given more priority than others.
Eckerd is a very friendly environment. It is pretty easy to make friends. The clubs are popular and easy to create. Campus safety is very relaxed. Athletics are okay, it depends on the sport. There are almost always weekend activities, whether they are sponsored by the school or not.
Eckerd is in FL where it is always sunny and beautiful and has an amazing campus. We have a beach on our campus and are in a prime location right next to the interstate making it easy to get anywhere. I am truly happy everyday and studying is 10x easier when your sitting in a hammock on the beach.
The faculty at Eckerd is friendly and great. We have an extremely low ratio of students to teachers so it makes it so easy to get to know your professors. This makes them so much more understanding when you need to miss a class or make up and assignment. I play a sport and am a fulltime enrolled student athlete and the professors are very understanding of the demading schedule I have and help me out in any way that they can. Even playing a sport I still have plenty of free time after all my homework is done.
The campus life is great if you enjoy being friendly and known. Campus is small so everyone pretty much knows everyone. People are always smiling and saying hi to you. This could also be seen as a bad thing because everyone knows everyones business as well. The one bad thing I have to say about the school is the lack of pride in the Athletics at the school. Being a liberal arts schoool, not much attention is shown to the athletes like at a university such as the university of florida where the students bleed their school colors. All in all though the campus is so open and friendly and I love it here.
