Overall

I really like Kent State, I enjoy attending the Stark campus. My favorite memory is all of the school and campus wide event they are all so much fun and you meet so many new people. I like most is how close the buildings are they are within a decent walking distance. I would advise students to get their materials for school as soon as possible because the professors really do have a passion for what they teach and their is no beating a dead horse here we really jump into it on the first day. This school stood out to me particularly because the student life was no different from the bigger campuses all of the events are Kent campus wide and you still get every bit of the college experience for a better price.

Academics

Kent State University at Stark has some of the most interesting classes and programs that you can join and be apart of. For instance you can take fitness classes and classes at Stark State that will count toward your major or degree. The Professors are great they really take the time with their students because most of the class sizes rank about 25:1 and that is decent enough for each professor to take the time they need with all of their students. We also have a free tutoring service which is amazing I don't know where I would be with out it. the tutors are great and really break everything down for you to understand. The work load isn't all that bad because the classes are on an every other day schedule so you have plenty of time to get work done.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The campus has a very safe and friendly environment. the facilities are always clean and get remodeled for a more cleanly and chic look. the computer lab are in almost every building on almost every floor for the students convenience and that is always helpful that way if the lab is full you have plenty of other options. There are always security roaming the halls and parking lots for the safety of everyone in it we also have phones and buttons you can push in the parking lot to let some one know you need help. all of the campus organizations are fun and very easy to get more information on. We have clubs and organizations for every major and interest you may have. and there is plenty parking though depending on what time you get there that is usually depends on how close you can get to the building.

I really like how nice people are at school. Last year I took college classes while I was still in high school and the classes were paid for which was awesome. I have made a lot of great friends too! They are always trying to help me with whatever questions I have. I really enjoy the time I have spent there.

Academics

I enjoy how in some classes you have a class of 12 and others you have 40. You can choose what kind of class size you want. The professors are really nice and helpful. They have made me really like college. Sometimes the professors give a lot of homework and it seems like they don't understand we have a life, but I know they want us to succeed in our careers. I know that each class I take is helping me to work towards becoming a teacher and after I graduate, I am going to be one awesome teacher!

Campus Facilities & Safety

I have heard that Kent Stark parking is a lot nicer then trying to park at the main campus. I haven't been to any other campus but I like the Stark one. Its small but I like that the teachers really get to know you. I also have a lot of friends that go here because it is convenient which I like. Overall I really like the campus. It is always clean and fun and that is wonderful.

Overall

Kent State University at Stark is the perfect institution for students looking to receive a high-end education without the high prices. The affordability of the university is just one of the perks of being a student at this campus. If I had one tip to give to prospective students, I would say to become involved. Although the campus is not big enough to get lost, it is easy to be disconnected and feel as though there is no "college experience".

Academics

I have not had any complaints as far as class scheduling. Any class I have needed has been available to me. The class sizes are perfect for students who thrive with less students per class. Because of the class sizes, professors are able to work one-on-one with anyone who needs help. The workload is what to be expected from higher education. A student must work hard for his or her grade. There will be no handouts at this university.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The campus atmosphere seems focused. The students who are here are here to learn and achieve their goals. While on this campus students have all of the facilities they need to succeed. We are so lucky to have access to the fitness center, library, and food emporium. There is never a feeling of fear or insecurity as far as campus safety.

Overall

I think that Kent State University Stark Campus is hands down the best college in my area! There are at least 5 other universities to choose from and I chose Kent State because they offer a multitude of classes to fit my schedule, most credits earned are transferable, the campus is beautiful and the staff is very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help all students. Kent also offers several diverse clubs and organizations to participate in.

Academics

I attended classes at Kent State University Stark Campus my senior year of high school through their PSEO program. My professors were challenging, however they were always available for any student after hours if needed. The class sizes are just the right amount of student to professor ratio. The workload was a little overwhelming at first compared to high school, however I was able to adjust easily to college life.

Campus Facilities & Safety

Kent State University Stark Campus is a beautifully landscaped campus that is very comfortable, safe and easy to get around. They offer a fitness center, have computers available, a nice cafeteria area, plenty of outside sitting areas, and ample parking.

Overall

I absolutely love my campus. I was unsure of it at first, because of how small of a campus it is, but once I got involved on campus I soon realized that there is nowhere I would rather be. The campus has a very home-like feel to it, and mostly everyone on campus is extremely friendly and polite, and always willing to help.

Academics

The size of the classrooms are small which lets the professors focus more on the individuals which is a phenomenal aspect. The workload is just the right amount to where students have the ability to attend classes and also have jobs and lives outside of the school.

Campus Facilities & Safety

I am involved in many on-campus organizations, including Student Leadership Academy, Student Organization Committee, and the Psychology Club. The organizations this campus has to offer are great, and they can help you build as an individual while getting to know people that have similar interests.

Overall

I am a transfer student from the University of Akron to Kent State Stark because of tuition expenses. After my first year here I would say I am enjoying my time here and would like to transfer to the main campus to finish my degree eventually.

Academics

I have enjoyed the majority of my classes. I enjoy having small classes 30-50 students. The professors have all been amazing! The workload is moderate overall but im sure that will change after I start my upper-division classes.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The campus atmosphere is relaxed and diverse. The campus facilities and computer labs are up to date. I wish there were more appealing organizations to join for average students. Parking and campus safety are good.

Overall

I enjoyed the student body and the help from the professors. The student body were so willing to help one another. In fact, I had a student that actually helped me get textures for a final project that I was working on. As for any help for prospective students: I would recommend that you work hard on a daily basis and do your best to manage your time wisely; especially with the amount of work given, they are going to need to.

Academics

The professors, as mentioned before, were knowledgeable in their subjects of expertise and willing to answer any questions that a student may have had. Rightfully, all you had to do was ask. Most classes came with enough work to help you understand the topic, but, in the end, it, rightfully, came down to whether or not the student wanted to understand the subject. Class sizes ranged between 10 to 15 per class, which is definitely small enough for each student to get the help that they possibly needed. The school pushed its extra-curriculars, which is good, if anyone could find time between college and work, but that's more of a societal issue.

Campus Facilities & Safety

There was enough computer labs to work done, which I was very grateful of, since I needed the computers for my major. The only problem could have been aiming for specific computer labs with specific programs on the computers; especially if that computer lab was being used for a class. There seemed to be enough parking, but, at times, there did seem to be times where space was limited for cars, but we were fortunate enough to be able to use the Stark State College parking as well. Overall, the campus was safe, but there were times when smokers would smoke where they were not supposed to, and the security couldn't do anything about it and didn't do enough about it. At times, the smokers did seem to have the run of the outside, at least they couldn't go inside.
