Reviews for Pacific Lutheran University
I love PLU for its small size and diversity. The university has about 3000 students so its very easy to make many lasting friendships. For those considering PLU, I would highly recommend going especially if you are a music student. No school in the Northwest is better for a music education or just being in a music ensemble. When you get here make sure to study abroad or get involved in at least one program. They give you plenty of opportunities.
PLU is ideal for those who like smaller class sizes and to be able to work one on one with a teacher. Class sizes are no bigger than 30-40 students and professors make office hours easy to access and are willing to make appointments. Workload is fairly average and exams are easy to take if you study and do the work beforehand. PLU offers a variety of classes and all of them are fairly challenging.
There are several clubs and organizations to join from volunteering to diversity clubs to clubs who just like to talk about food. All are fun and do several events during the year for others around campus to get involved. Lute life is very active. Those who are in charge of student involvement do a pretty good job at making fun residence hall events and dances to attend over the weekend. Campus safety is very effective at PLU. There are several emergency booths on campus you can reach and contact campus safety for any safety related issue and they are quick to get to where they need to be for emergencies. The school athletics are also great. There are a variety of intramural sports to play or you can join one of the school teams. The PLU football team is great to watch and they have a high success rate.
