I like their CPS program, which is geared toward working adult students that want to further their education and/or career. Scheduling is very flexible and the classes are accelerted so you only take one class per 5 week session so that you can concentrate on that one subject versus having to juggle different courses and the various due dates.

Academics

The CPS program is an accelerated program, so you do have to complete a semester worth of work into 5 or 6 weeks. A person enrolled in these classes definitely needs to be focused. Even in the online classes, the professors are very helpful and offer a ton of feedback.

College Life

For a traditional student, Indiana Tech has many clubs and programs to be a part of. There is on campus housing with dining options. There are always activities and events going on on campus. The athletic teams are an integral part of the campus environment.

Overall

Overall my experience has led me to believe that this school is poorly managed. They pushed to get me to sign up for classes but were not very helpful in communicating how my current credits would transfer in and what my plan should be. If you don't actually apply, it is very difficult to get anyone to give you any information. They offer a WIN hotline which is a substitute for an actual advisor. They are usually helpful, but I think it would be more beneficial to have a degree advisor who knew me and what my goals were.

Academics

I am in the College of Professional Studies program. This is the only reason I came to this school. The classes and workload are very manageable and I'm able to work full-time and attend classes. Sometimes I feel that it is almost too easy. I'm not complaining, just don't always feel like I learned a lot.

College Life

Since I am in the CPS program, it means I am working full time outside of attending school. Unfortunately this does not allow me to experience the "college life" and atmosphere. I always feel very safe on campus, but other than that I have not experienced any of these other areas.

I really struggled to finda school that was right for me to transfer to after i completed my associates degree this past spring. I was motivated and wanted to quickly finish my degree with a minimum of unneeded classes. Indiana Tech was just what I needed.

Academics

I love the five week format and the way books are mailed right to your door. As a busy working adult that is very helpful. I was also impressed with the wide variety of classes available and the ability to mix on campus classes with online classes to best meet my needs.

College Life

I haven't had a chance to experience much of campus life yet but there seems to be an abundance of available activites. I am looking forward to visiting the Fitness center and am relieved to know that there is help available if I need it.

Overall

When I started researching colleges, I wish I had known about Indiana Tech and their College of Professional Studies sooner. The Health Care Administration classes really stood out to me when I first enrolled. At Indiana Tech, I would be able to get a Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Health Care Administration and I was very excited for the opportunity to do so. I have only taken a few classes at Indiana Tech so far, but one of my favorite proffesors has to be Professor David Pitcher. He taught my Business Management and International Management classes. He was very knowledgeable and with just the right questions, he would open up entire new ways of thinking. As a Business major, this is definitely my favorite department. So far, I have taken most of my classes on-line due to time constraints. However, I work in the same neighborhood that Indiana Tech is located so I know that the best way to get around campus is by foot. The buildings are so beautiful that one would prefer to see it this way. Because I work so much, I really do not take part in sports activities. However, a few of the many things that Indiana tech offers are wrestling, baseball, track and field, soccer, chearleading, basketball, etc.. So, any student looking for opportunities to play sports can definitely find it here with the Indiana Tech Warriors! In addition, there are fraternities and many organizations students can partake in, as well. If I did not work so much, I would be enrolled in at least a couple. I am very proud to be going to Indiana Tech and look forward to continuing and completing my education there.

Academics

The College of Professional Studies that I am enrolled in offers classes specifically designed for working adult students. However, there are the traditionaly day-classes, as well. The classes can be pretty intense and the workload is challenging, but not unmanageable. The professors are dedicated and work towards getting the students the most out of their education. The classes I have had so far have not been large at all. Students don't have to worry about getting lost among all the other students and the professor not knowing their name.

College Life

There are beautiful fraternity row houses as well as student housing on or near the campus, which offfers many opportunities for socializing. The various sports activities and games are very fun to attend and students can always find something to do on weekends. Indiana Tech has many organizations, including everything from choir to chess, so nobody has to feel left out.

I felt at home at Indiana Tech from my 1st visit. I really like its urban setting downtown, and the campus is so nice and welcoming from the staff to the many students of all diverse backgrounds. There are many opportunities to get involved with the many clubs and organizations on campus. Everything is so new and nice, especially the dorms and student center.

Academics

I am majoring in Business Management. I feel like I have a great relationship with my Profs and am enjoying the smaller class sizes and ease of getting around campus. I feel like I will be prepared for the business world in 4 years.

College Life

A great social atmosphere awaits an incoming freshman . If your into sports, there are many teams to try and join or just support. Athletics are huge here. I have a very diverse group of friends that I spend time with studying and social life together either on campus or a short trip downtown to a ball game or dining. I like the security that is provided on campus, there are very friendly and helpful.

Overall, the school is a great school. The staff and faculty are knowledgeable about the campus. I liked the overall experience I have had in classes and with the professors. Prospective students should ask many questions in order to figure out if this is the best fit for them. It helps to have an idea of what you want in mind before going on a visit so you have an idea of what you need to find out. I liked that my guide around campus was knowledgeable about the entire campus.

Academics

The classes are pretty good. They are normally around 20-30 students. The professors are knowledgeable in their content area. Workload will vary depending on the year in college, classes and the degree. Professors will work with athletes and other students if they have to miss, as long as the student doesn't just intentionally skip the class. Each professor has a different style and way of teaching. It helps to be prepared for just about any style.

College Life

The campus is overall safe. Athletics are a big part of the student life. There are many organizations and groups that students can join. Student life does a lot to promote a fun atmosphere and make all students feel welcome. There is a real effort to try and include commuter students in the activities.

It is so exciting to be doing college. And awesome to be doing it at Indiana Tech. The schedule is designed for working adults, and every class has been challenging and different. My classes are the highlight of my week, and I so envy the younger students that can attend full-time. The staff and faculty really care about our success and put themselves out to help with any problem.

Academics

Each class lasts for 5 weeks and meets one time each week for about 3 hours. There is normally an assignment to do before the first class which can be challenging since we haven't met the instructor yet. Every instructor has been very different in the way the classes are structured and I believe that this is good practice for the workplace where we will face a variety of challenges. Some classes require essays and presentations, and some require a lot of reading, or math, or research. Some classes require a combination of all of these. Each class has asked me to stretch my limits and broaden my horizon and learn. I love it!

College Life

Every week when I come to class there are new opportunities posted on the bulletin boards. And every week I receive emails about internship and job opportunites, trips that double as classes, openings for campus work and organizations to join. Other students I know are involved in fraternities and sororities and I know these organizations help to support the students and do a lot of valuable outreach. I believe that Indiana Tech has a varied flavor that will appeal to many different students.

Indiana Tech University is a well rounded school with good class sizes, allowing you to get a more personal relationship with your teahcer. I also like the seystem of have a class every 5 weeks instead of 4 at a time. It allows you to focus more and achieve a better grade( and to me retain more knowledge).

Academics

The professors care and want the students to do well . The workload is reasonable for online and on campus classes. Also the advisors and staff are very helpful and work with you the whole time to get your degree, and the class sizes are great because the arent tremendously large.

College Life

The social atomoshpere of the school is great. Everyone is there because they truly want to learn or want to hlpe you achieve greatness which seems to take away the tension between the people. I do feel safe and the activites are limited.

The school is overall good. The people and professors here are great, they get to know you. The dining hall is not very good, so stock up on food you can keep in your dorm. Make friends with your RA.

Academics

Professors are very nice, they get to know you. Workload is very manageble, even with athletics. The class size is pretty small in honors and higher level courses. Just talk to the teachers are people.

College Life

Almost everyone here is an athlete so they kind of cater to you. Wellness center is small. Student life tries to make things fun, sometines they are. Overall a good school if you want a small school.

Overall

I enjoy the College of Professional Studies, I take all of my classes online. The only thing I have noticed is that since my classes are accelerated into 5 weeks each, it still seems to take a lot longer to graduate. I have been there two years and still haven't received or am eligible for an associates yet. I do enjoy the independence in my classes, and not having to sit in a room listening to a lecture for hours. I love Blackboard and have become very familiar with it. All in all, for being a working mother of a two year old, its very convenient..

Academics

The work load is manageable for the online classes, the professors, for the most part enjoy taking part individually with a students success in a class. I love the programs that are available for the non-traditional studies.

College Life

I am off campus most of the time, but it is a big and beautiful campus. When I go their occasionally for paper work, its mostly laid out well, and I have a good experience. I love to see the pictures on Facebook of the common activities that go on, and sometimes wish I could be a part of them. Since my schedule wont really allow me too, its nice to see others having a good time.
