Overall

This is a great place to explore a diverse realm of academics before specifying a single path. The professors are outstanding and genuinely desire the best for their students well-being. The College of Sciences at UNO, the Department of Chemistry, offers a B.S. that is American Chemical Society (ACS) accredited. Therefore, the courses are very advanced and the workload is sizable. Although, as difficult and scary as it sounds the classes are taught by the best professors that make learning fun and interactive. My classes do require a heavy workload. However, staying on top of the homework helps when it comes to test taking time. I live off campus and commute an hour each way, to and from, school. UNO offers a wide range of clubs and organizations. The campus police are wonderful and always patrolling around the campus. I feel safe and never experienced anything to make me feel otherwise. And alot of volunteer opportunities and events are help on campus!
