Reviews for National-Louis University
Overall, I think NLU is a great school for someone who wants smaller and more intimate classes. The quarter schedule is great because you never have a chance to become bored of your classes and the 10 weeks go by really fast! Professors are always willing to stay after class and help you and are always easy to reach by e-mail. You never have to deal with grad students who are working for professors, and are actually in direct contact with your actual professors which isn't always a possibility at larger universities.
NLU is on the quarter schedule so each class is only a 10 week course that meets once a week for a few hours. The workload is manageable and comparable to any other university although not overly difficult. Class sizes are no more than about 20 people which is great because you get individualized attention. NLU is best known for their education program.
NLU is a school that doesn't have a housing program as most students have their own apartments or are commuting from home. There is no athletics program at NLU. The "campus safety" I find not to be a problem, this campus is located on Michigan Ave and even walking the mile from the school to Union Station at almost 10 PM on a Wednesday night, I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe. The weekend activities are plenty as the school is located in downtown Chicago and there's always something to do there!
