Overall

I love college here. I have met alot of new people and the atmosphere is great. The football games are awesome and the cafeteria has great food with a variety of things that I find myself enjoying everytime I eat there.

Academics

Most of the professors are good. I enjoy my classes here. The workload is difficult but I have 17 credits with three very challenging classes. I am pushing myself hard and getting any extra help I may need here.

College Life

Great atmosphere here at the University. There is always something going on and always an opportunity to get involved in different organizations. The weekends are the best. Always a great time with a ton of fun things to do.

Overall

This is a very nice school with a great atmosphere. The students are friendly and the teachers are great at what they do. The thing that I like the most about my school is that I get to meet a lot of new people. I have not been here very long yet but for future students I would like for them to know that they get their moneys worth here at the University of Nebraska.

Academics

My interior design program is excellent and organized well. They really help you learn and if you need extra help or don't understand something, then they can help you which is nice. The professors teach well and the workload is acceptable.

College Life

The social atmosphere is good especially around the campus and at the Union where you can see and meet a lot of new people. The campus safety is pretty good and they have emergency buttons that you can push around campus in case if anything bad were to happen. The weekend activities are fun and the school always seems to have fun activities going on. Downtown is a great place to have fun on the weekends as well.

Overall

The University of Nebraska, Lincoln has been a great school. Overall, most of the students come from the local area and smaller communities in Nebraska so everyone is really friendly and it's easy to get involved.

Academics

When I first started, the gen. ed. classes were huge (200+) but our recitation classes were about twenty five. The professors are great people that truly care about their classes. For the first two years of school, I took twelve credit hours each semester and it was perfect. Fifteen credit hours was a little difficult, but time management helped.

College Life

UNL does a great job at the beginning of the semester to kick the year off, but there aren't many events throughout the year. There's tons of clubs to join and even the dorms are a great place to meet friends.

I've enjoyed my experience thus far, mainly because I haven't been too stressed. Prospective students: Take as many college, dual credit, and/or AP classes as possible so you don't feel the need to take more classes than you can handle. Find out which professors and courses to avoid. Get to know the area.

Academics

My workload hasn't been too bad, because I came in with at least semester's worth of credit hours. I've been able to take the classes I want instead of solely required courses, although even the required courses were picked from a large selection within the required field. My professors have all been great - knowledgeable about their subject, enthusiastic, enjoyable lecturers, and available for assistance outside class.

College Life

UNL is downtown, so there's a lot to do off campus. There are lots of varied clubs and organizations, and many activities (concerts, theatre, movies, free food, art shows, etc.) on campus. I don't really care about athletics, but school spirit (especially for athletics) is a GIGANTIC part of the university, the city, and beyond...so if you're into that, you'll fit in great. Even if you aren't a huge sports fan, you'll still find a group or groups you fit in with who share your ideas. The student body is fairly diverse - socially, ethnically, etc. - but it still largely WASPs because it is NE (although Lincoln is a refugee city so there is more variety than one might expect).

Overall

I started my college career at University of Nebraska - Lincoln. I loved the atmosphere, and the fact that it was a change from growing up in the suburbs of Chicago. Nice people, low-key atmosphere. There were a lot of commuter students, so weekends were pretty quiet ... except for football Saturdays (see below).

Academics

I enjoyed my classes at UNL. I had nice mix of general courses, and some specific to my major. Class-size varied, though most of my classes were small with only a few in lecture halls. I started as a broadcast journalism major, before switching over to news editorial, and loved how I could start taking classes in my major right away. Most of my classes were on the main campus, and they were all relatively close to one another, so I never had to rush to get to class.

College Life

I learned to love football at UNL; I went to the games with my dorm-mates right when school started. People say the football stadium is the third largest city in Nebraska on a football Saturday - it is so true! All that spirit - all that red - in one place is amazing! You really feel like a part of something! Go Huskers!
