Reviews for Portland State University
I love PSU! It's in the middle of the city and there's so much to do. The streetcar is free and it rains a lot. It's not your typical college experience, which is actually something I really like about it. I love that I can hop on the Streetcar and head up to NW 23rd or walk down to Pioneer and I love that the people are all so nice. I don't feel like there are very many judgmental students here and it's very refreshing. Also, Vistor's is okay .. but if you don't have to get a meal plan than don't. Off campus dining tastes way better. I recommend Hot Lips and Pita Pit. Safeway is also really close so getting food isn't very hard to do.
I really enjoy classes and my teachers all know me by name, I figured that going into college would be big huge lecture halls, but actually all of my classes are the same size as the classes i took in high school, if not smaller. The workload is also generally easy. Work days i have little homework and weekend I normally have a 2 paragraph analysis and reading. It's nothing like I thought it would be.
I've notice there is always an event going on at Portland State, if I'm bored than it's my own fault for not taking advantage of everything going on around me. I have yet to join any clubs, but there are loads of them that are out there.
I have only been at Portland State University for one and a half terms, but so far I have enjoyed my experience. The campus has a lot of resources and food is everywhere. There are always events happening and it is a good and safe community.
All of the professors that I have had really enjoy what they teach, and they are excited to pass on their knowledge. I have found that no matter how big the class is the professors still care about every student that is willing to put in the effort.
I have had no issues with safety at PSU and I have a night class; I am not scared when on campus. As for activities, there is a farmers market every friday and saturday which is really cool, and concerts are always happening in the park blocks. I don't live on campus so I don't see everything that occurs, but what I do see seems cool.
Perfect Downtown setting, easy to travel to even without a car. Great atmosphere that keeps me happy and joyful through the day. love being able to catch music shows after class, in the close by venues and enjoying the surroundings of downtown, great for music lovers.
Graphic Design building is great, always filled with activities and guest speakers. Makes you feel apart of the Portland community and not just the school. Great way to meet and discover new people and things.
So many things to do, It's a downtown campus! It's great becoming apart of the community around you and apart of the school you can see the happiness that everyone has spending time on campus. Football games are always a blast and the stadium is right in the heart of the campus never a dull moment!
