I am only a freshman at this University, but I am happy to give my first impressions. First of all, the admission staff was very helpful when I was filling out all of he information needed to gain admission. The financial aid department was also helpful. I was late getting all of my material in for admission, financial aid and housing. Everyone was so very helpful. My parents were not able to help me with any of these things and I had to get the mother of a friend to help. Once I arrived on campus, everything was ok. I like my dorm room and my roommates. The campus is beautiful and I like the way this school "looks out" for us freshmen. Many of us are away from hom for the first time. Even though this campus is located downtown in the largest city in Alsbama, I feel safe. What I like most is the way administration and staff make the extra effort to help freshmen. I know I would not be here had I not had their help. My experiences here are just beginning, but I have been impressed with how generous and helpful my roommates are. I look forward to many memorable experiences with them and other students I meet. My tip for prospective students is get things done early. Startt preparing for college as a high school freshman. Take classes that will hep you get in good universities. Strive for the best grades in your classes. If your parents can't or won't help you, look for adults who are familiar with the process and can help you throughout your high school years.
