Overall

Overall, I love this school. I'm sad to say that I'm going to be graduating from it. THe teachers are very helpful, all you have to do is ASK! and they will find a way to help. The students here are friendly and are willing to help. It has a great atmosphere.

Academics

THe professor's attitudes vary, and I think thats what makes it enjoyable. The class sizes are so nice. A person can actually get a one on one conversation with the instructor. They have so many programs for a junior college, and willl help you succeed in transfering to another college.

Campus Facilities & Safety

First the parking isn't that great with so many students around. That's the only flaw I can actually find. Any other student would tell you the same thing. THe atmosphere of college, is amazing. There's not a whole bunch of students were it may make you feel like you're suffocating. The teachers will help out if the students ask. The deans are even amazing and helpful!

Overall

Butler is a great school. A lot of the students I attended high school with go here, which makes it fun. I like all of my teachers except my psychology teacher. You definitely have to study to pass. They have a lot of resources if you need help. Tutors, counselors, and the teachers are always willing to help if you need it. The teachers are pretty flexible too.

Academics

My teachers are really good, except for psychology. I'm struggling a little bit though because I am working and going to school. The class sizes are all fairly small, so the teachers actualy know the students by name. The work load is fairly easy, except anatomy and physiology, you have to put forth a lot of effort to retain the information.

Campus Facilities & Safety

There are a ton of computer labs on campus. Parking is always open, but sometimes you have to ark at the end ofnthe parking lot, which makes it hard to get to class on time if you are already running late. The are a lot of organizations that anyone can join.

Overall

My two years at Butler Community College have been great. I love the small class sized, and the fact that most professors actually care about their students. I have taken both online and in-class classes, and both have been great. They are very technology friendly, and encourage the use of technology both inside and outside of the class room. What I have enjoyed most about going to Butler CC is being part of a program on the campus called Serve2Succeed which is a service-learning program to help new students transition into college by doing service projects. Being able to get involved in a program helped me to get connected and also help others get connected at the school. I would say the biggest tip for anyone who is going to any college is to get plugged in somewhere. It is so easy just to go to class and not talk to anyone at a community college, but your college experience will be so much better if you find a group to interact with.

Academics

Like I said I love the small class size at Butler. They are usually about twenty to twenty-five students and no more than thirty. The professors are great. They all care about their students and are willing to work with students outside of class. The workload depends on the class, but it is a moderate amount. I have never been totally overwhelmed with homework. Butler Community College has great programs, and they have adequately prepared me to transfer to a larger university.

Campus Facilities & Safety

Butler Community College has a main campus in El Dorado, Kansas and satellite campuses in Andover, Rose Hill, Wichita, and some high schools. I Primarily went to the Andover campus which is the second largest. There are three buildings in Andover. The main building has a nice student union and cafeteria. There are several computer labs. Parking is not to crazy usually. There is a very nice library and student union at the main campus in El Dorado. As far as organizations go, there are many ways to get involved at Butler from SGA, different clubs, and Service-Learning opportunities.

Overall

I think the school is a good school for being a community college, however, I think it is too easy and I feel like I am still in high school. I like it because it is a much cheaper option for my general requirements and can start me off to a good GPA.

Academics

I enjoy the class size because it is very small and helps me focus. The classes are typically very easy and have a lot of similarities to high school. The professors are nice but sometimes I wonder if all of them want to be there or know exactly what they are saying/teaching. The workload is very reasonable and it is to maintain an almost full-time job.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The campus that I attend is right by the high school and is very mellow. The computer labs are convenient and quiet, so it easy to study there. Parking is great because even when you are the furthest away, you do not have to trek a mile to get to the buildings, The campus is pretty safe and has security guards constantly overlooking the buildings.

I have been searching for a good welding school, and a friend lead me to Butler. They offer excellent one on one instruction and job placement possibilities after graduation. This school was appealing for the fact that I can attend one year or 2 years of classes. If I do well in the first year and enjoy what I do and can further my studies and earn an associates degree. A smaller close knit school is what I've been searching for and I think I've found it!

Academics

Not yet assigned to classes. Will attend this fall.
