janine acherman Student at This School - Grad Year 2015
Aside from the social life, it seems the education is exactly what they say it is: topnotch education! Although in some cases (like math, for me) there is material that is difficult to comprehend, it is not impossible as long as you read the chapters accordingly. There is always a lot of reading involved, but even with that being said, you will have an actual social life here. People are so helpful that I even got through the math part I was struggling with on my Astronomy homework just last night.
T. Ream Alumnus - Grad Year 2005
UCSB has what I would imagine to be a normal workload, class sizes from 800 in the largest lecture hall to as small as 3 to 5 in others. It offers a wide variety of academic programs well accredited and even has 5 or so noble prize winning professors.
