I love the school overall. They offer many different ways to get extra help in classes and on school work. They also offer many ways to get involved with the school threw clubs and organizations of all types. I love how much that they have going on that is free. knowing that college students do not have a lot of extra money.

Academics

Every class has different workloads, but in general they are all fairly reasonable. The worse one that I actually had was my lit class, only because we had to read x amount of pages per day, and I am not a very fast reader. Class sizes vary depending on the class I was in a few with a couple 100 people and some that had about 20 in it, of course I preferred the smaller class sizes. Professors were great and were always open to help where and when they can.

College Life

Everyone within the college campus is extremely welcoming, you walk down the side walks and you get a smile and a hey. Campus always has the police riding/walking around, so you know that they are just around the corner if you need them. I have fallen in love with one particular organization, Sigma Alpha, they have truly made my experience at Tarleton that much more enjoyable.

What I like the most about Tarleton is that the students are really personable and friendly. Stephenville is a small town with fewer students than the big schools so people are really friendly, remember your name and who you are, so when you see them around town they often say hello. Also there is no traffic and the people who arent students in this town seem to love and respect the tarleton students.

Academics

Nursing classes are tough, but what we are learning is really going to prepare us for real hospitals. The nursing program is awesome with state of the art building complete with manekins that have real vital signs like blood pressure, pulses, and breath sounds, and they can run simulations which put you in a real life situation where you are taking care of a patient but in a safe environment. It has really helped me learn, and with 60 other students in my class its really easy to remember everyone and we all help each other out.

College Life

Even though Tarleton is in a small town, there are plenty of things to do here. The school is rich with traditions and on campus events and there are also a ton of shops that are easily accessible around town. My favorite place is going to City limits to do some two stepping and listen to some great texas country singers!

Overall, Tarleton is the best college that I have been to. I met some cool students my first semester here. The basketball games are amazing, you can have fun cheering or just sit in the stands. My tip to prospective students is get involved, don't sit in your dorm room starring at the walls.

Academics

Tarleton classes are small. The professor takes time to get to know each student's name, so you are not a number. The professors that I had were geared to help each student succeed, even when students didn't show up to class. Out of the three colleges that I have attended, Tarleton has been the hardest workload on me. However, the homework assigned helps in understanding the information.

College Life

I was not involved in any clubs my first semester here at Tarleton and I regret it. Getting involved in some kind a student engagement is what college is all about. Clubs sit outside of the library wanting to get people involved. Athletics are a big deal here at Tarleton, every week and email was sent out about upcoming dates so student could cheer on the teams.

I have loved my experience at Tarleton! The classes are challenging but once you get past your fresshman basics and get into the classes for your major You will love it! The Spirit and Comraderie at Tarleton is Amazing! And Living on Campus is a Blast! Tips for Prospective Students? Buy yourself a pair of Cowboy Boots and Prepare to learn to Two- Step Tarleton Style! No For Real though, Figure out what you want to do with your life and figure it out fast! Don't waste time on classes that wont count towards your major! When All is said and done, You are here to get an education, So let that be your main focus!

Academics

Classes are great and small! You will get a ton of attention from your professors if you seek them out. Your freshman sciences will probably be more lecture focused with a lot of other kids in an auditorium with you. But labs for those classes average around 25 so you can definatly still interact with your professors. Go to Class! That is how you will succeed!

College Life

There are a ton of organizations to get involved in! If you dont get involved with something, whether its a religious group, greek life, or any other interest group, then you will likely not have a good experince here. On the weekends, Stephenville turns into a ghost town, you will hardly see anyone on campus. So if you live far away and cannot go home, then make sure you grab a few friends to stick saturday and sunday our with you. Or hang out with your Residential Leader! Tarletons RLs are GREAT! :D

What I think about Tarleton State? I think that Tarleton is home to me. From the first day I came here I made tons of friends and I knew everybody. I could not walk to and from classes without stopping and saying "Hello, how are you" to many of my friends and just strangers as well. You get what you get out of your university from what you put into it. I put in a lot of effort into my school and I am already a freshman going on to be a sophomore. I learned to state actively involved whether it is theatre or greek life or even some volunteer work as well.

Academics

Classes at Tarleton are a breeze. Everything is relatively close by and the longest you would have to walk is approximately five minutes at most. The only major classes with a huge size is probably a science class in a lecture hall and that probably fits around 200 but, the average size class room is no more than 30 to 40 students. The professors are easy to meet with you and can help you with anything. Of course the workload is a lot, it is college what do you expect? But, the work is not to a ridiculous point where you are pulling your hair out, it is manageable. You will learn how to time manage yourself.

College Life

I am a proud member of Greek life here at Tarleton state. I am a proud student who is actively involved here on campus. I am in love with the traditions. You have not known what school spirit is until you visit Tarleton.

Overall

This is an ag based school and has a very home like environment. The teachers really care about there students and try there hardest to make you feel important. The campus is very warming and has lots of great traditions. This is a great small town school.

Academics

There is a 20 to 1 ratio of students to proffesors so the classes are pretty small. There is a lot of interactions in class besides just lecture. The teachers will help you as much as you as for help.

College Life

There is a great social atmosphere, everyone is very friendly. The clubs create a special bond and it is like your second family because you spend so much time together. There are lots of traditions at football games to get everyone interacted. The school becomes a part of you.

I know Tarleton State can be my home for the next four years. The one thing I love the most is the environment and atmosphere of the university as well as the town, everyone there is polite, always wanting to help and give you a good experience. A tip for prospective students is that Tarleton is small but is full of school spirit.

Academics

When I did research I learned the ratio of classes are 20 to 1. During my visit, I met the professor for pre-veterinary medicine, he was informing us of how hard the career of veterinary is and how dedicated we have to be to achieve our goal.

College Life

the socail atmosphere of Tarleton is polite and inviting. During my visit, the tour guides were polite and were open to any questions, also there are emergency phones all over campus to provide safety for the students. Tarleton does have weekend activites, to give the students something fun to do.
