Ecumenical Theological Seminary (ETS) in Detroit, Michigan, offers theological education in the Christian tradition to those who want to become leaders of their churches.
ETS has the following types of diploma, certificate and degree programs: Doctor of Ministry (DMin), Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies, Master of Divinity (MDiv), Mastor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry (MAPM), and Urban Ministry Diploma (UMD). On-campus and online learning options are also provided.
As part of its commitment to ministry and social responsibility, ETS staff and students run a special “Everyone Eats Program.” Each week, the program serves up hundreds of hot meals to feed the homeless and the hungry in the city.
Applications to the seminary can be downloaded online and mailed to the admissions office. There is a fee to apply to ETS, and supplemental documents such as letters of recommendation and official transcripts are required. Need-based financial aid is available to those who qualify to help bring down the cost of tuition.
At the seminary, students are brought together for worship, academic study, and ministry. After graduation, it is the goal of the school to have its graduates become effective theological educators in the local community and throughout the world.
