Reviews for Appalachian State University
I really enjoyed the close knit feel of Appalachian State University. The students and faculty were all very nice and made me feel welcome. The environment really made it feel like everyone was part of a big family. I feel that Boone, North Carolina would be the perfect location to attend college. The restaurants in Boone are great and there are many things to do close by. The over all feel of the town is very much like the one in which I have grown up. My parents live about two and a half hours away from Boone, which I feel is a perfect distance. It's close enough so that I can still come home on weekends. I love the weather and the campus style. Appalachian also has a good study abroad program, which is something I've always been interested in. Over all, Appalachian is the perfect college for me.
I want to study psychology and Appalachian has a very good psychology program. I talked to several students majoring in psychology and they all spoke highly of the program. Appalachian will give me an excellent education in a field that I am so passionate about.
One of my favorite parts of Appalachian is the atmosphere. Everyone seems like a family. I visited on one of the open house days and there was an entire hallway set up with booths about the different clubs and organizations. The buildings are fairly close together, so I feel like I'd definitely be safe walking from class to class. Football is the leading sport at Appalachian. I love watching football games with a group of friends on Friday nights. Snowboarding and skiing are popular activities as well and I cannot wait to try them.
